Mardi Gras

February is Mardi Gras, our first excuse to hit the beach and party! Over 10,000 people attended this year's parade that concluded with delicious food and great country music. Of course, Mardi Gras in Galveston ( a short ferry ride away) is always a memorable experience!

Spring Break

March is the beginning of the summer season for Crystal Beach. College students kick off the season with parties, beach bands and dances. However, the beach is big enough for all ages with areas that remain family friendly.

Crab Fest

Every Mother's Day weekend Crystal Beach pulls out all of the stops to celebrate one of our most famous critters - the crab. Carnival rides, bands, vendors and, of course, great food are the ingredients of this family-oriented event. This is a don't-miss festival.

Dickens on the Strand

Every December, Galveston's historical Strand district is transformed into a ninteenth-century marketplace. Characters right out of Dickens, A Christmas Carol, stroll the sidewalks and sale their wares. Carolers fill the air with the sounds of Christmas. It is a magical experience for visitors of all ages. There's nothing like a Dicken's Christmas!

The Lone Star Rally

Each year in November, Galveston hosts the third largest motorcycle rally in the nation. Over 200,000 bikers converge on the island for this exciting 3-day event. Come one and all and don't forget your earplugs!

The Texas Frog Fest

To commemorate Memorial Day, Crystal Beach honors our military with the Frog Fest. Why the frog? Because in earlier years frogs were prolific in our area. The goal of the TXFF is to raise funds to help maintain the Lone Survivor Retreat facility and offset the costs of conducting retreats and other special events. This two-day venue features great musical entertainment, food and drinks, and great fun for the whole family.

Jane Long Festival

The Jane Long Festival offers a day of fun at historical Fort Travis. Billed as the oldest festival in Texas, the festival celebrates the life and courage of Jane Long, the “Mother of Texas”. The festival has a variety of scheduled activities throughout the day including Ft. Travis bunker tours, a face painter, a corn-hole tournament, a dramatic presentation by the Way Off Broadway Players, a silent auction, as well as good food and a variety of vendors, artisans, and costumed characters.
